“It’s like a rumble, from the core of the earth.”
Today on the show, we talk MEMORIA, the latest from from Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul which is now playing in Little Rock, until September 1st. The film stars Tilda Swinton as a botanist who is awakened one morning by a strange noise, and she becomes obsessed with figuring out where it came from. Like all of Apichatpong’s films, MEMORIA is mysterious and can be challenging to grasp, so hopefully our podcast discussion may provide some helpful context.
Arkansas filmmaker Jack Barr joins the show, and we talk through our theories about what the film might mean. Listen in, and reach out by email or social media (links below) if you have thoughts or ideas about the movie we didn’t touch on.
