On this episode, we speak with filmmaker Rocky Roggio, the director of 1946: THE MISTRANSLATION THAT SHIFTED CULTURE. The film looks at Bible translation and the controversy around the word “homosexual” and how it’s translation has harmed people in the LGBTQ+ community for decades.

The film is playing at the Reel Queer Film Festival, Aug 9, 2024 and Rocky Roggio will be in attendance for a live Q&A after the screening. Tickets and info at ReelQueerFilm.com.

In honor of the upcoming screening, I decided to re-release this interview from 2022, that I did with Roggio as the film was still in post-production. We speak about her religious upbringing and how the film came to be.
