Bentonville Film Festival announces 2022 winners, including best narrative feature Every Day in Kaimuki

The in-person portion of the 2022 Bentonville Film Festival wrapped up this past weekend with an awards ceremony at Bentonville's Meteor Guitar Gallery

The 2022 Bentonville Film Festival is still underway virtually until July 3rd, but the in-person festival wrapped up this past weekend with an awards ceremony at Bentonville’s Meteor Guitar Gallery. Find the full list of categories and winners below.

One of the defining features of the Bentonville Film Festival is their commitment to diversity and inclusion. This year, among the competition films, 82% came from female or gender non-confirming creators; 65% from BIPOC, Asian, or Pacific Islander creators; 62% from members of the LGBTQIA+ community; 42% from filmmakers over the age of 50; and 20% from filmmakers with disabilities. The 2022 films also feature lead characters who are 90% women/gender non-conforming, 60% BIPOC, 25% LGBTQ+ and 12% with disabilities.

In addition to the winning films listed below, actor Fin Argus was presented with The Rising Star Award and Producer Effie Brown was presented with the Rising To The Challenge Award.
